Way We Live Award for Farm Families | Business

The Iowa State Fair, Tractor Supply Co., and WHO News Radio 1040 are looking for six farm families to honor with the Way We Live Award.

The families should have strong farm values, a hard work ethic, and a love for farming. Families submitted should also be able to show dedication to animal agriculture. The awards will be presented at the 2012 Iowa State Fair, August 9th through 19th.

Those selected for the award will receive $250 in cash, fair admission tickets, parking, fair food coupons, and recognition in the Paul R. Knapp Animal Learning Center throughout the fair.

To submit a family please complete an entry form along with a 500-1500 word essay describing how living on a farm and choosing the occupation has shaped the family’s life. All entries should also include a family picture that best illustrates the commitment to their farm. Entry forms can be found on the Iowa State Fair website. Forms must be completed and mailed to Iowa State Fair, PO Box 57130, Des Moines, IA 50317-0003 or emailed to ebrewer@iowastatefair.org by May 1st.

Only residents of Iowa operating a farming operation centered on animal agriculture are eligible to be nominated for the award.
