NIXLE REMINDER: Police Connect To Community | Community Spirit

The Marshalltown Police Department is encouraging residents to sign up to a free program that allows them to alert the public in an efficient manner.

The Nixle Community Information Service aids the police in creating and publishing messages to be delivered to subscribed residents instantly via cell phone text message and/or email.

The scheme started in 2012 but has been put to good use recently with the latest winter storm.

Tiopics in the future may include information about missing children, traffic safety events, fire and police emergencies as well as other relevant safety and community event information.
