Rep. Bruce Braley will visit the Marshalltown Public Library to recognize their recent achievement of winning the 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service.
The library was one of only 10 museums and libraries across the country to win the honor from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Representatives from the library traveled to Washington, DC, last week for an awards ceremony at the White House hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama.
From 4:45 p.m., Braley will present the library with a framed copy of remarks he made recognizing the achievement as they appear in the Congressional Record.
The National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library in Cedar Rapids also received the award this year.
