POWER PLANT: Alliant To Hold Public Meeting | Events

Alliant will hold a public meeting at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Fisher Community Center to discuss the progress of the proposed Alliant gas-fire plant.

The $750 million gas plant will replace the current Sutherland Station which is due to shut in 2014. The slated completion date for the new plant is 2017.

The regulatory board responsible for issuing permits, the Iowa Utilities Board, will also meet May 21st to discuss the 600 megawatt station development.
