ICE DANGERS: Warning After Recent Melting | News

The Marshalltown Fire Department has released a warning reminding people of the dangers of ice during current fluctuating temperatures.

In a statement they warn that, “Ice is very unstable when it freezes and thaws and refreezes so beware and be safe.”

You should participate in activities on ice you should go with a partner, have a method to assist yourself back up onto the ice such as a pair of ice awls and have a whistle.

The Fire Department recommends that you always wear a life vest when on the ice.
